Downtown-  According to San Diego Police, at 1:41AM officers responded to the Federal Courthouse in the 900 block of Front St to check a report of an explosion.  Officers arrived to find that the front door had been damaged by an explosive device.  The Metro Arson Strike Team (MAST) responded followed by various Federal agents to investigate the incident.

The device, believed to be a pipe bomb sent shrapnel across Front Street.  There were also reports of window damage on the eighth floor of a building across the street. There were no reported injuries.
