Downtown-  A police officer in the mid city area tried to stop a stolen vehicle that was spotted in the 3500 block of Meade Ave  around 3:30AM Sunday morning.  The driver of the vehicle fled and led police on a chase down local freeways, eventually ending up in downtown.  At the southern end of 8th Avenue, just north of PetCo Park, the vehicle failed to turn and crashed between a building and a fence.  The occupants were taken into custody without further incident.
