Pacific Beach - According to police a Sergeant was driving eastbound in the 1700 block of Grand Avenue at about 10:30pm when he heard gunfire on the north side of the street.  The officer observed two people walking east on the sidewalk and as he turned to stop near them he saw one of the men pass something to the other.  The sergeant exited his vehicle in time to see the second man point a handgun down the street.  He ordered the man to drop the weapon but he spun around, pointing the gun at the sergeant.    The sergeant fired at him and the man dropped his weapon and was taken into custody.  In the meantime, the first man walked away and hid in some bushes in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue.  He was located by a police canine and arrested. 

No one was hit by the gunfire.  While the first man was outstanding police searched his residence looking for him and removed some weapons from the house.
