San Diego - San Diego Police shot and wounded a man after he attempted to run over officers according to police. A traffic officer attempted to pull over a motorist for a traffic violation when the driver took off. A high speed chase ensued from Del Mar Heights Road down 805 to La Jolla Village drive at speeds over one-hundred miles per hour. The driver then turned and went back north on the freeway. The driver then headed back to the address where the vehicle was registered to where another police unit spotted it. The officers fell in behind the vehicle as it attempted to go into a garage and close the door. Officers ran in after it and tried to get the driver out of the vehicle. According to police the driver, a male, then put the car in reverse and run over the officers when they opened fire. The man was transported in critical condition to Scripps La Jolla.
